Capsicum treated with ReefSaver (Product B) presented the highest marketable yield per hectare at an average of 29.7 tonnes. The capsicum treated with the competitor product (Product A) presented a yield of 28.8 tonnes per hectare and the capsicums in the control trial area yielded 28.35 tonnes per hectare. This presents an 18.8% increase over the Australian Average Capsicum yield of 25 tonnes per hectare (NSW DPI, 2013 & WA DPI, 2016) in the capsicum treated with ReefSaver. The yield from ReefSaver treated Capsicum was 4.8% higher than the Control Capsicum yield and 3.1% higher than the Capsicum treated with the competitor product (Product A).
Capsicum treated with ReefSaver (Product B) presented the lowest unmarketable product loss a 3.6 tonnes per hectare being labelled un-marketable. This was followed by the competitor product (Product A) treated capsicum having a 4.05 tonne per hectare product loss and the capsicums in the control trial area presented an 8.55 tonne per hectare product loss due to unmarketable characteristics. There was a 57.9% difference between Control Capsicums and an 11.1% difference between the competitor product (Product A) treated Capsicums when compared to ReefSaver treated capsicum.
